Sacramento Chiropractors Care for Arthritis
Arthritis is unfortunately quite common.
More than 22% of American adults (over 52.5 million people) have arthritis or another rheumatic condition diagnosed by a doctor.
At Barham Chiropractic, we help patients who deal with arthritis quite often.
We wrote this short article to explain what causes arthritis, what are its symptoms, and how our chiropractors can help.
Causes and Symptoms of arthritis
The most common form of arthritis, Osteoarthritis, occurs when the cartilage that caps the bones in your joints is worn down. This condition causes swelling and tenderness and can definitely be exacerbated by misalignments of joints. When joint are not in propper alignment they can have unnecessary stress and strain and frankly, just hurt (that’s in people who aren’t even dealing with arthritis).
Is Chiropractic Care Safe for Arthritis?
Yes, Chiropractic care is normally safe for arthritis. However, proper assessments using range of motion exams and diagnostic imaging may need to be done to ascertain whether chiropractic care is right for you. Our Sacramento Chiropractic office offers a comprehensive intake examination in our NEW PATIENT OFFER that includes all of the assessments necessary to see if chiropractic will be a safe and effective option for me.
Can chiropractic care help arthritis?
Although not all arthritis is caused by joint issues, people who suffer from osteoarthritis may experience significant relief from their symptoms. Our office cares for several patients who suffer from arthritis and although some forms of arthritis are not able to be corrected with chiropractic, we found that most patients experienced relief between their fourth and sixth visit.
