Chiropractic Jaw Adjustment
Sacramento Chiropractor Performs Chiropractic Jaw Adjustment
It’s a great day at Barham Chiropractic!
You may be wondering, why in the world would someone need a jaw adjustment?
If this is you, you probably have never experienced TMJ or other jaw-related issues.
Our Sacramento Chiropractor Office helps patients with a laundry list of health problems that get alleviated with Jaw Adjustments.
Chiropractic jaw adjustments have been found to be effective in treating a range of jaw-related conditions, including jaw pain, clicking or popping sounds in the jaw, headaches, and neck pain.
Unfortunately, chiropractic jaw adjustments can be kind of intimidating for some people.
So our intention with this article was to simply share some information about the adjustment and hopefully dispel any fear you may have around it.
What Is A Chiropractic Jaw Adjustment?
A chiropractic jaw adjustment is a technique used by chiropractors to treat conditions related to the jaw.
During a chiropractic jaw adjustment, chiropractors manipulate the jaw joint, as well as the muscles and tissues around it, to improve its function and alleviate pain or discomfort. In the image above, Dr. Barham is using an activator to apply quick and measured pressure to manipulate the joint back into its natural position.
Do Chiropractic Jaw Adjustments Hurt?
Normally, chiropractic jaw adjustments do not hurt. The amount of discomfort you may feel varies depending on your condition but most patients do not feel pain. If they do it is normally because they have a severe condition and after resolving it they no longer experience pain during adjustments.
Do I Need a Chiropractic Jaw Adjustment?
You should always consult a professional before deciding whether you need any health care treatment. Frankly, your Chiropractor will be the best person to decide if you would benefit from a jaw adjustment but it is important to let your chiropractor know if you have jaw pain. We have had patients simply not tell us about jaw pain becuase they assumed we only take care of backs. It wasn’t until they saw someone else getting relief for TMJ that they told us they had TMJ too and we were able to resolve that for them.
Hope This Helps!
I sincerely hope this short article on Chiropractic Jaw Adjustments was helpful and encourage you to tell your chiropractor if you are experiencing jaw pain.
And as always, if you are in the Sacramento CA area and need chiropractic care we would love to earn the opportunity to help you.
