Chiropractor Explains Omega 3s and Joint Health

Barham Chiropractic often recommends omega 3s.

Hey Barham family.

Thanks for checking out our article on Omega 3s.

Although we almost always recommend getting your Omega 3s from whole foods, some of the benefits require consistently high intakes of Omega 3s, which may require a strict diet.

If you are reading this, it is very likely that we recommended Omega 3s to you.

We typically see patients get noticeable benefits from Omega 3s regarding inflammation after a month of consistently taking it. It seems like, anecdotally, patients who correct their diet and take natural anti-inflammatory supplements get more out of their chiropractic care (if inflammation was an issue).

In this article, we are going to briefly discuss some of the health benefits but if you are completely uninterested, we are going to go ahead and just share with you the two Omega 3 supplements we recommend.

Here are the two Omega 3 supplements we recommend.

One of the best Omega 3 supplements we recommend is:

Olympian Labs Omega-3 Fish Oils

Alternatively, a vegan Omega 3 supplement that patients have had success with is:

(Top 3 Benefits)

1. Omega 3s is a natural anti-inflammatory

Omega 3s can help reduce inflammation. Omega-3 fatty acids inhibit an enzyme called cyclooxygenase (COX), which produces the prostaglandin hormones that spark inflammation.

The action is similar to what happens when one takes an aspirin, which disrupts the COX-2 signaling pathway, thus reducing inflammation and pain.

One of the major reasons we recommend Omega 3s is because of the anti-inflammatory benefits. When this supplement is combined with the anti-inflammatory benefits of chiropractic care, it helps our patients experience significant breakthroughs in a short amount of time.

2. Arthritis patients respond well to Omega 3s supplements

Arthritis is unfortunately a very common problem in Sacramento CA. We actually just wrote another article on Arthritis, which we recommend you read if you struggle with this issue.

By reducing inflammation Omega 3s have been shown to also help relieve pain associated with arthritis. In the references below we attached a study that explains the science behind it more deeply.

3. Omega 3s affect bone Health

This is one of the more exciting and lesser-known facts about Omega 3s. Omega 3s can help your body better transport nutrients into your bones, this can play a major role in strengthening your bones.

Older patients, especially women, need to take seriously building strong bones.

Although resistance training and calcium are needed to build strong bones, Omega 3s can help the strengthening of the bones by helping the body better transport nutrients into the bones.
