Spinal Decompression Benefits: How It Can Help You

When your spine compresses over time, it can create pain that affects every aspect of your daily life.

Here’s how spinal decompression therapy can help:

  • Takes pressure off compressed discs and pinched nerves
  • Hydrates damaged discs by restoring nutrient and oxygen flow
  • Relieves nerve pressure that causes pain and numbness
  • Restores natural movement and flexibility to your spine
  • Provides non-invasive alternative to risky back surgeries
  • Addresses root causes instead of masking symptoms

At Barham Chiropractic, we combine spinal decompression with our comprehensive diagnostic approach to ensure you get real answers and real results.

“I am now headache free for the past month…“

“I went in for several health issues from chronic Sciatica, to headaches and migraines that were occurring almost daily! They were completely debilitating!

I am now headache free for the past month (miracle) and haven’t had a bad sciatica flair up either and the chronic pain is nearly gone after only 1 month!!!!

Beyond the treatments working, I can tell you that the staff and both Dr. Barham and Dr. Johnson are extremely friendly and personable. I highly recommend them!”

“ABSOLUTE MIRACLE WORKERS!”

“I had just re-injured a disc in my lower back, couldn’t walk, couldn’t stand, needed the assistance of a tall kitchen chair to walk from the car to the building in terrible pain.

They took their time working on me. I thought I was going to be in this pain for months, unable to do anything. Barham knew exactly how to treat me and straightened me out, took the pain away.

I’m able to walk again and so thankful for their services 🙏”

It’s been worth the multiple times a week longish drive to get adjusted by mostly Dr J. I couldn’t walk more than 150 steps when I started the program outlined for me and in 3 months I can easily walk over 1,000 paces and the other day I walked 3,000 paces with very little pain in my SI joint. The X-rays show before and after improvement. My neck was giving me vertigo before and within a month, vertigo gone . Everyone there is so sweet!

Your Treatment Questions, Answered

Here are the answers to questions we hear every day in our Sacramento office

Yes, spinal decompression therapy is considered very safe when performed by trained professionals. Our manual decompression table offers a full range of motion utilized by one of our chiropractors, ensuring a gentle and controlled treatment that specifically targets your body’s needs.

Thousands of patients have safely received spinal decompression therapy with minimal side effects. Most people find the treatment relaxing and comfortable.

While inversion tables provide general hanging that affects your entire spine, our manual spinal decompression table targets specific disc levels with precise, controlled force. Your chiropractor can isolate problem areas and adjust pressure throughout treatment.

Inversion tables also require you to hang upside down, which many people find uncomfortable or impossible due to health conditions. Our decompression table allows you to lie comfortably while receiving targeted treatment tailoured to your condition.

Our spinal decompression services utilize a specialized, manipulable table that gently stretches your spine in a controlled, cyclical pattern. This creates negative pressure within the discs, allowing herniated material to retract while nutrients flow back into damaged areas.

The treatment relieves pressure on compressed nerves and discs that cause your pain. As your spine decompresses, it creates space for natural healing to occur, often providing relief that patients haven’t experienced in years.

Absolutely. With over 385 five-star reviews, our patients consistently report significant pain relief and improved mobility.

Our corrective approach addresses root causes for lasting results, not just temporary relief.

Coverage varies significantly between insurance providers and individual plans, as spinal decompression is sometimes considered investigational by certain insurers. We’ll be happy to verify your benefits and explain your coverage options during your consultation.

We also offer flexible payment options and accept Care Credit to help make treatment affordable regardless of your insurance situation. Our goal is to ensure cost never prevents you from getting the relief you need.

The easiest way to schedule is by calling our office at (916) 542-6273 during business hours, or you can click any button on this page to request an appointment online. We’ll get back to you quickly to find a time that works with your schedule.

When you call or submit a request, we’ll also answer any immediate questions you have and can verify your insurance benefits before your visit. We want to make the entire process as smooth and stress-free as possible.

Please bring a valid photo ID, your insurance card, and any recent imaging studies like X-rays or MRIs if you have them. Also bring a list of current medications and any previous treatment records related to your back pain.

If you don’t have recent imaging, don’t worry – we can take X-rays in our office if needed. The most important thing is just showing up ready to discuss your pain history and goals for recovery.

We conduct a thorough evaluation before recommending spinal decompression to ensure you’re a good candidate for treatment. This comprehensive assessment helps us determine if decompression therapy is likely to help your specific condition.

If spinal decompression isn’t the right fit, we offer several other treatment options including chiropractic care, massage therapy, and nutritional counseling. Our goal is finding the right solution for your pain, whatever that may be.
