Turmeric and Chiropractic Care
Can Tumeric Help You Get More Out of Your Chiropractic Care?
Hey Barham family, in this article we will discuss Turmeric and how it can help you reduce inflammation and to help you get more out of your chiropractic visits.
If you are not interested in the in-depth nutritional information here are the cliff notes:
Tumeric helps reduce inflammation and boosts your mood to help you get back to living pain-free.
We are currently in the process of partnering with a Turmeric company to make our own in-house Turmeric formula for our patients.
In the meantime, we strongly recommend the supplements linked below if you are interested in Turmeric.
Here are the two Turmeric supplements we recommend.
One of the best value Turmeric supplements we recommend is:
Turmeric Curcumin Softgels
Another Turmeric supplement that patients have had success with is:

(Top 3 Benefits)
1. Tumeric is a natural anti-inflammatory Food
Chronic low-level inflammation can play a role in some severe health conditions and diseases like:
heart disease
cancer
metabolic syndrome
Alzheimer’s disease
various degenerative conditions
Turmeric has proven itself to be effective at reducing information in scientific studies (see references), especially in high doses.
Anecdotally in our Sacramento Chiropractic Office, we treat patients often who get major breakthroughs when they reduce their inflammation using Turmeric.
2. Arthritis patients respond well to Turmeric supplements
Arthritis is unfortunately a very common problem in Sacramento CA.
Given that curcumin is a potent anti-inflammatory compound, it makes sense that it may help with arthritis. In fact, several studies show that there is an association.
We found that when we combined the anti-inflammatory benefits of turmeric, with chiropractic care and maintain your spine in alignment, you can get very drastic reduction in Arthritis pain.
3. Turmeric helps battle against depression
In a controlled trial, 60 people with depression were randomized into three groups. One group took Prozac, another group took 1 gram of curcumin, and the third group took both Prozac and curcumin.
After 6 weeks, curcumin led to improvements similar to those of Prozac. The group that took both Prozac and curcumin fared best.
According to this small study, curcumin may be as effective as an antidepressant to some.

Depression is also linked to reduced levels of BDNF and a shrinking hippocampus, a brain area that plays a role in learning and memory. Curcumin can help boost BDNF levels, potentially reversing some of these changes.
There’s also some evidence that curcumin can boost the brain's neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine.
The reason why any of this matters is that a Positive Mental Attitude can make a massive difference in wellness. Part of what we do here is make sure that you know that things can and will get better. Back problems can be very discouraging and frankly, if our patients don’t believe they can get better they just won’t show up for treatment.
It really matters to us that you get well, and stay well.
Having a positive mental attitude can help you get well sooner.
At Barham Chiropractic, we care about getting you back to doing what you love.
Taking supplements may help you get more out of your chiropractic care.
Because of this, we want to make sure that we share again which supplements we recommend:
The first is:
Turmeric Curcumin Softgels
The second turmeric supplement that patients have had success with is:
